A days introduction to the practice of Satipatthana - a way to freedom and ease using breath, relaxation and posture to bring us to the immediacy of the moment. While we do not all have the luxury of time and space in which to sit quietly and meditate, we do ALL have the ability to watch our breathing and 'let go' of tensions in the body, while going about our hectic lives. This practice of meditation in everyday life is to have at the center of the being a core which is loving, positive and above all, understanding.

‘Since moving into her West London home a few years ago, Sara Ward and her husband Andy have industriously set up Hen Corner, where they now have a stunning kitchen garden – with raised beds full of seasonal crops – fruit and nut trees, a flock of clucking hens and a beehive with busy bees hard at work making honey.’ Michele Jameson, Country Living Magazine
Since discovering that there are many of us living in towns and cities that have aspirations of country living Sara Ward has made it her mission to encourage people to grab city in one hand and country life in the other, believing that you can have a bit of both and it adds fullness to life. Learning as they go, the Ward family are not professional farmers. They have busy urban lives, like many other families, with work commitments, children growing up too fast and voluntary roles in the local community. Finding time and space to learn new skills and produce some food is a great hobby that is so rewarding and through their courses, they encourage others to ‘Join us on the Journey’.‘
As a bee keeper, Sara began her training at River Cottage in 2009 and collected her first colony in August 2011. She was delighted to win First Prize for Best Honey in London in October 2012. Sara trained as a Bread Angel in 2015 and has subsequently trained with other excellent bakers, including Richard Bertinet, she runs a weekly micro bakery from her home each Friday. Her Apple & Chilli Jelly took her to BBC TWO Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge and she enjoys writing her regularly features for both Country Living and Out & About magazine.
